Our Mission
Millennium Solar Electric Training Academy (MSETA) is a cutting-edge solar training organization, proudly affiliated with the Department of Labor Apprenticeship program. Our mission is to empower adult students to become leaders in the renewable energy sector, equipping them with a deep understanding of solar energy’s environmental benefits and certifying them as installation technicians through a comprehensive, industry-leading curriculum. We partner with non-profit organizations to create life-changing opportunities for individuals who may feel they have limited options, guiding them toward a brighter and more sustainable future. Our training program features hands-on demonstrations led by experienced industry professionals, ensuring that our students gain both the practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary to excel in the evolving field of renewable energy.
Our Vision
Our vision is to expand our communities’ knowledge of sustainable living resources through public awareness, political advocacy, and comprehensive training programs. We aim to establish our locations as technology hubs within our communities, providing access to state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge training in renewable energy. By promoting sustainable practices and educating the public, we seek to empower individuals and communities to adopt environmentally friendly solutions and contribute to a greener future.
MSETA is proud to be an NCCER-accredited program, offering trainees the opportunity to earn up to four industry accreditations upon completion. Chief Executive Officer
Christopher W. Williams, a third-generation electrician, has been a well-respected and well-sought Photovoltaic technician and Electrician in the South Suburban and Chicagoland area since the early 2000s. Christopher started in the trade at a young age, trained by his father, Wendell Williams of Reliable Electric. He apprenticed with his father throughout his teenage years, learning priceless trade tricks. After his father's passing, he and his brothers established a successful family-operated electrical contracting business. This experience led him to further his education and join IBEW Union, allowing him to work on more significant projects and developments during the housing and commercial boom of the late 1990s.
In 2000, Christopher branched out independently, obtained his Electrical Licensed, and started Millennium Solar Electric Inc., which became incorporated in 2010. Millennium Solar Electric Training Academy (MSETA) was founded in 2017 and took flight the following year under the Future Energy Job Act (FEJA) Workforce Development Program. MSETA’s mission is to train low-income students, ex-offenders, minorities, current and former foster children, women, and veterans in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for employment generated by FEJA.
